[칠곡=뉴시스] 박홍식 기자 = 한국도로공사 대구경북본부 구미지사 관할 칠곡(양방향)휴게소는 26일 '치매극복 선도기업'으로 지정돼 현판 전달식을 가졌다.

'치매극복 선도기업' 지정은 치매 환자와 가족이 안심하고 다닐 수 있는 치매 친화적 문화를 조성하는 프로젝트다.

칠곡군보건소 치매안심센터가 추진하는 사업이다.

이번 지정을 위해 칠곡(서울방향)휴게소, 칠곡(부산방향)휴게소 전 직원들은 치매 환자를 대하는 올바른 태도 등을 포함한 '치매 파트너' 교육을 이수했다.

근무 중 치매 의심 환자나 길을 잃은 어르신을 발견했을 때 신속하고 안전하게 대처할 수 있는 현장 대응력을 갖춘다.

전경진 칠곡(서울방향)휴게소장은 "앞으로도 칠곡군 보건소와 긴밀하게 협력해 치매 환자와 가족들이 안심하고 찾을 수 있는 안전하고 따뜻한 휴게 공간을 만들어 나가겠다"고 말했다.

유호상 칠곡(부산방향)휴게소장은 "일회성 행사에 그치지 않고 다양한 매체와 캠페인을 통해 고속도로 이용객들에게 치매 조기 검진과 인식 개선의 필요성을 적극적으로 전파하겠다"고 밝혔다.
